Popular attractions around town include Cu Chi an amazing underground military network (built in the early 1940's during the war against the French the tunnel was later used as a hideout for surprise attacks against American troops in the Vietnam war) and Mekon Delta, the end of Mekong River and Vietnam's bread basket which is a maze of canals which run through farms and rice fields creating a lifeline for millions of Vietnamese.
