Thailand
Officially the Kingdom of Thailand, it is divided into four natural regions : the mountains and forests of the North; the vast
rice fields of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline
of the peninsula South. Bangkok (located on the Chao Phraya near the Gulf of Thailand) is Thailand's capital and largest city.
Thailand has a long and intricate coastline (measuring 2,000 miles) and is characterized both by rocky shoreline and more gentle
shorelines with mangrove swamps, beaches, and offshore coral reefs. Many animal species inhabit Thailand’s forests. Elephants are
raised in captivity but also live in the wild. Other animals native to Thailand include the rhinoceros, tiger, leopard, gaur (wild ox),
water buffalo, and gibbon.
Thailand embraces a rich assortment cultures and traditions. With its proud history, tropical climate and renowned hospitality,
the Kingdom is a never-ending source of fascination and pleasure for visitors. Join us and you will realize why Thailand is known
